How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? has taken over the fitness and anime community in Japan, and has finally found its way to the YouTube community in Japan. Japanese muscle YouTuber KoalaKoarashi challenged anime director Seiji Kishi (Persona4 the Golden ANIMATION, RADIANT, Kengan Ashura) and manga author Yabako Sandrovich (How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, Kengan Ashura) to a fitness challenge to see how much they could lift, bro.
The 15 minute video sees the duo take on KoalaKoarashi in a series of muscle-based challenges, which start from the 3 minute mark in the video. While the video is entirely in Japanese, the numbers are in English and easy to follow (sorry Americans, the numbers are in kilograms).
Seiji Kishi has been posting his muscle transformation on his Twitter account. He’s only been training for a year and a half and has already shown considerable results – he’s even competed in the NPCJ, a national bodybuilding competition, where he came 6th in the over 40s category! Next time, he’s aiming for third place!

While the swole anime director isn’t working on the How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift? anime, he’s good friends with Yabako Sandrovich who writes the manga and can also lift heavy dumbbells, as evident from the above video.
I for one welcome this muscle-bound anime-creator community.
