Still wondering what’s going on in Death Stranding? So is Sam. Fortunately, a new 7-minute cut scene fills us in on more of the background of Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game.
Appropriately titled “Briefing,” the scene features Sam interacting with Die-Hardman (played by Tommie Earl Jenkins) and Amelie, a.k.a. Samantha America Strand (voiced by Emily O’Brien, with the likeness of a young Lindsay Wagner). We last saw Amelie bleeding from her eyes in the E3 2018 trailer. This new clip gives us a little insight into her plans for Sam and America as a whole… as well as some worrying commentary about where she is and how she’s doing:
Amelie’s mother Bridget—the former president of the United Cities of America—is played fully (voice, likeness, and mo-cap) by Wagner in the game.
While the trailer doesn’t answer all the game’s hard questions, it’s our most solid look yet at the state of the game’s world and Sam’s mission across it.
Death Stranding comes out November 8.
