The official website for the forthcoming TV anime adaptation of Minato Tonami’s slice-of-life comedy novel Chubyo Gekihatsu Boy/Young Disease Outburst Boy, which was inspired by rerulili’s vocaloid song of the same name, announced today that it is set to premiere on TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11 on October 4, 2019.
The Len Kagamina-voiced song was originally posted on YouTube and Nico Nico Douga in January 2015 and has been viewed 7.5 million times in total so far. Then the first volume of its novel adaptation was published from KADOKAWA’s Kadokawa Beans Bunko imprint in December of the same year.
Its story follows Mizuki Hijiri, a female high school student who transfers to a new school. Although she wants to spend an ordinary school life, Mizuki encounters five boys at “Hero Club” who are deeply suffered from “chunibyou/middle-school second-year syndrome”: Yamato Noda, who wants to be a superhero, Tomoki Takashima, whose love interests are only girls in games, Kazuhiro Nakamura, who believes that he possesses The God of Darkness in his right arm, Rei Tsukumo, who acts as a backroom fixer, and Futaba Mikuriya, a narcissistic singer who has a tin ear.
The three main staff of the 2017 TV anime Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun: director Kazuya Ichikawa, series composition writer Midori Goto, and character designer Arisa Matsuura team up again at Studio Deen.
